In the up and coming session we will integrate some of the things we have learned so far. We will do this by looking for some challenging moments we often experience in our sport, and then develop an idea of what these ‘moments’ could look like if we developed a new response to old triggers.
Some examples for “challenging moments” might be:
- thinking of an important game the day before and feeling nervous and miserable
- quickly falling 0 – 2 behind in a game and getting this sinking feeling
- feeling very lacklustre in training and not putting in half as much as one could
What I would like you to do now is to choose one that is difficult for you, and make it a ‘script’ that is not longer than 1 -2 minutes.
Imagine it a bit like a movie script, – short film.
To help you along with this I have written a small instruction and a template you might want to use:
So, if you can have a go and write something up.
Your short movie for now is the “as is” difficult situation you are facing, the fear, the wanting to throw up, the lack of motivation, – so maybe something like this:
But don’t worry, at the end of the session it will look more like this:
Any questions ask me.
If you can’t find the time to do it, please at least print the document and bring it along!
